The kelp is my savior during low tide
when the winds are too strong
And i share sunrises with stargazers
on the cliffs of Devereaux at dawn.

Crossing the Border

Baja California.
September 2009
2,953 miles in 19 days.

Unpredictable winds, salty skin, and dusty roads that never seem to end
Community bottles of tequila and boxes of local beer, while flames from the bonfire forge a new mental frontier
Road maps can't predict sand traps or west facing points where north swell wraps into an empty bay lined with rusty carcasses awaiting to decay
Fishing nets strewn across cobble stones, no luxury malls, just humble homes
While serpents coil among fertile soil and meccas of trade exhale breaths of corn and oil.
